Cargo Rerouting via Sohar, Khor Fakkan, Fujairah and the Hatta Corridor

Moving cargo into and out of Dubai while the Strait of Hormuz is restricted: Khor Fakkan, Fujairah and Sohar to Dubai by road, the Hatta green corridor and the current Dubai Customs notices.

What it is

Since 28 February 2026 shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been severely restricted, so sea cargo for Dubai is being routed through ports outside the strait — Khor Fakkan and Fujairah on the UAE east coast, and Sohar in Oman — and finishes its journey by road. We arrange these moves: the trucks, the documents, storage while you wait, and the bonded legs through approved operators.

The Dubai Customs notices (2026)

Dubai Customs issued temporary measures to keep cargo moving. They stay in force until Dubai Customs announces otherwise, so we check the current position before every booking.

  • Notice 04/2026 (14 March 2026): a green corridor between Dubai and Omani ports and airports. Containers move in sealed trucks through Al Wajajah and Hatta, and imports are cleared at Hatta; goods under special procedures go on under bond to the Dry Port Customs Centre.
  • Notice 05/2026 (31 March 2026): the period for transit goods to reach the exit point is extended from 30 to up to 90 days, temporarily; more time needs Dubai Customs approval.
  • Notice 06/2026 (4 April 2026): cargo from Dubai to the world can go through Omani ports and airports via the Hatta green corridor. It must be handled by trusted bonded operators (DP World for sea cargo, dnata for air cargo), is inspected and sealed by Dubai Customs, and a letter of guarantee replaces the cash deposit.

What we do and what the bonded operator does

On the Hatta green corridor the bonded leg is carried out by Dubai Customs' approved bonded operators. We arrange that leg with them and handle everything around it: collection, documents, storage, destuffing or cross-stuffing, and delivery in the UAE. On the Khor Fakkan and Fujairah road routes, and for Sohar to Dubai moves, our team arranges the trucks and the paperwork; where a move runs sealed through the Hatta green corridor, it follows Dubai Customs' sealing and bonded rules.

Before you choose a route

  • Tell us the port of arrival, the cargo and when it is needed — the best route changes with port congestion and border timing
  • Check whether your goods need permits in the UAE or Oman; some goods are excluded from the corridor
  • Plan storage at the arrival point if the onward move cannot start straight away
